Hello everyone! Since this weekend we’re celebrating Memorial Day, I was inspired to do do a street style chic look that had a classic color combination of black and white with the added feminine touch of lace.

It goes to prove that even classic colors can be styled in a chic way with the right wardrobe piece. In this case, the dress. I love that it’s versatile for a day to night look and can easily be paired with any accessories. For this day look, I opted for strappy sandals and gold colored jewelry and handbag.

I hope that you have been inspired by the look and enjoy the pictures. Let me know in the comments below and don’t forget to subscribe!

As Memorial Day approaches on Monday, let’s join in with prayers and appreciation.

Love and Peace,

-Alba

Spring Dress Inspiration

For this week’s outfit, I wanted to inspire you and provide you with a tip on how to style your sleeveless dresses as we are transitioning into Spring.

There are still days where the weather is cold, but the sun is out. In the days when the weather is still balancing between Winter and Spring, the desire to bring out that nice Spring dress can be quickly put aside when the temperature starts dipping back into colder digits.

One easy way to transition your sleeveless or even V-neck dresses is to layer them up with a long sleeve blouse or even turtle neck. It will not only look chic and very trendy, but it will help you stay warm.

Let me know if you try this styling tip in the comments below.

Hope that you have enjoyed this look, the styling tip and pictures! Thank you for stopping by and don’t forget to subscribe!

Love and Peace,

For this week’s post, I included another Winter look because it is still sweater weather here.  I wanted to go with a classic look of black and white, but wanted to add some playfulness to the look. I also wanted to incorporate a Winter trend, so I went with a Winter fringe look.

Sometimes when you are styling your look, you can make it simple by starting off with either an accessory or an item of clothing and you can make that your guide to style your entire look.  In this case, this warm sweater with the fringe detail is what I started off with and styled my look around it. Try styling your look by starting off with one item (shoes, bag or dress, etc.) and you’ll find it easier to get your entire look ready in no time! Let me know in the comments if you do try this method! I would love to hear about it!

As always, thank you for visiting and hope that you have enjoyed these pictures and look! Don’t forget to subscribe and connect with me via Instagram (@AugustRunway)!

Winter is finally on its last weeks and for this week’s post, I wanted to infuse my look with the Winter Color trend, burgundy.

This color instantly brings a look of sophistication and it is versatile to incorporate in your wardrobe.

For this week’s look, I choose this coat with the color burgundy and styled my look around it. I wanted the coat to stand out so I paired it with a rose colored, cropped turtleneck blouse and light colored denim jeans. For a pop of color, I chose a leopard clutch and dark Winter booties.

This look is great for everyday, but with a stylish influence.

Valentine’s Day Inspired Look

Happy Valentine’s Day! While I am aware that this post is two days early than the actual date, I still wanted to wish you all a Blessed, Joyfilled and Happy Valentine’s Day!

I am also aware that not everybody likes to celebrate this day and that this day can bring up a flurry of emotions and opinions!

It is somewhat a divided “holiday”, I know. This is why I decided on a very unconventional look. It is classic, but very different from all the pink and red feminine looks you might have seen already.

I wanted to challenge myself for this Valentine’s Day inspired look. And, since “borrowing from the boys” looks have been gaining momentum, I looked to Menswear for inspiration because of its simplistic siluhuettes . I balanced out the masculine and feminine for this look by adding the blouse with a bow, a bold red lip, and a edgy patterned clutch. Of course, a bouquet of red roses was the final touch!

I hope that you have enjoyed this look and pictures! I also hope that it inspires you to style your wardrobe in an unexpected way.

And, regardless of where you may find yourself on this Valentine’s Day, my hope and prayer is that you may feel loved and share love with those around you. In the end, love is all!

Love and Peace,

Alba

Hello everyone! One of the first things that you will notice about this post is that I have included a picture of a sunset to begin my look. Why is that? Well, first because if you have been following me for awhile, you know that I love to include architecture or scenic natural locations with my fashion photos. Also, if you follow me on Instagram (@AugustRunway) you know that most of my feed is either fashion or photos of scenic places that I have traveled to.

In this case, this was exactly how the sky looked like the day that I was doing this photo shoot! I simply had to share it with all of you here!

For this photo shoot, I wanted it to be at the iconic Urban Lights Art Installation at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art! I was thrilled and excited to be there!

As far as styling my wardrobe for this look, I knew I had to add color! I had to step out of my “color comfort zone” and not only add color, but make a color contrast or color blocking look. So, I decided on a classic shift dress that was feminine but had a bold blue color and paired it with bold burgundy suede flats. For my accessories, I incorporated flashy, bold, but feminine details with my clutch, rings and watch.

I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and look! If so, comment below and don’t forget to subscribe!

Love and Peace,

Alba

Happy New Year 2016 everyone!  I hope that you had a wonderful time celebrating with your loved ones! As for me, I had an amazing time with my family back in Southern California and made the most of the time that we all spent together.  The time spent at my parents home, going back to all my favorite restaurants and visiting Los Angeles, Laguna Beach, Dana Point, and Long Beach were highlights of this trip (including experiencing an unexpected 4.3 earthquake!) If you follow me on Instagram (@AugustRunway), I will be sharing more pictures from this time.

On New Year’s Day, we decided to play tourists in our own city and I was back at “work” again in planning out our photoshoots and location. My goal is to inspire you with fashion, photography and architecture all the while sharing with you personal stories behind the photo shoots and sharing with you some fashion and styling tips! More of that to come as well as a Travel and Beauty section to this blog!

For this look, since it was New Year’s Day, I wanted my look to be festive, fun, stylish and with a couture feel.  When I saw this dress, I knew that it marked off all the things that I was looking for and more! And, for location, I knew it had to the iconic Walt Disney Concert Hall. The day was slightly chilly, but it was so inspiring to be there and start the New Year doing what I love and sharing that with all of you.

I hope that you have enjoyed this look and photos!

Love and Peace,

Alba
