Hello everybody! For this week’s post, I wanted to share with you my second look that I wore out while in Chicago.

The weather called for slight rain and overcast skies so I knew I needed a long sleeve blouse and quite honestly, we had reservations to the Ralph Lauren restaurant that night (which was beautifully decorated and the food super delicious!) and (of course) I simply had to wear something Ralph Lauren! I opted for this black, long sleeve blouse that has elegant details along the V shape collar.

I then paired it with this A line skirt that has this lace up look (so on trend) making my outfit an all black monochrome outfit for the day.

This look was simple, feminine and elegant because of the details in both the blouse and the skirt. So, here’s my tip, when opting for an all monochrome look, try focusing on the details of the wardrobe pieces so that it can add a chic, edgy or feminine touch to your overall monochrome look.

For the final touches, I added more detailing with the lace up shoes, the jewelry and my favorite saddle bag.

I hope that you like this look and the pictures! Don’t forget to subscribe and join me on Instagram @AugustRunway!

Love and Peace,

Alba

One of the Fall trends that I was really looking forward to trying out was the Monochrome look.  I am usually wearing something black, so I knew that if I made my monochrome look all black, it would not have been as fun or challenging. I thought about all white or all blue, but in the end, I decided to go with the bold and stunning color, Red.

At first, it was slightly intimidating to do a monochrome look in such a bold color, but I found it empowering, fun and found a way to make it less intimidating. I realized that by choosing slightly different hues of red with my accessories (shoes and clutch), it made the whole monochrome look more refined, polished and chic.

Also, with this beautiful and versatile dress (which happens to hit another Fall trend with the flounce hem), I wanted to show you how quickly you can change the look of it by adding another accessory to it, a belt. These two looks created by adding or removing the belt are just for the day look.  This dress is versatile enough to bring it into a night look with a change of shoes.

The two looks also influenced the photos. If you have been following me for awhile, you know that I like to have my photos inspire more than just fashion. I love architecture, art, travel and nature and love bringing those elements into my photos rather than just blurring the background, as some fashion bloggers do. In this case, this particular location was perfect for it, as you can see by the pictures of me standing in the tinted long mirrors, creating a double look (especially the second picture where the sunset rays are caught right in the middle of the picture). Not only can you see the whole outfit look, but it is my hope, that it sparks creativity and therefore, inspiration to you!

Hope you enjoyed this look!

Love and peace,

Alba
